Lead shields are designed to reduce the exposure time and reduce the influence of scattered radiation. They used to uncoated films.

Lead intensifying screens are made from very thin suitable for radiography lead foil, is fixed on the basis of laminated.

The thickness of the lead screens is selected depending on the applied ionizing radiation source and X-ray tube voltage.

Lead shielding made of lead or lead-tin alloy according to GOST 18394-73 and GOST 9559-75.
