The Rosselkhoznadzor has developed tests to detect coronavirus in animals
The first test system for the diagnosis of the causative agent of the coronavirus COVID-19 in animals has been created in Russia. The test was developed by the Rosselkhoznadzor scientific institution - the Federal Center for Animal Health (FSBI "ARRIAH"), the adviser to the head of the department, Julia Melano, told reporters.
So far, only test systems for the diagnosis of COVID-19 in humans have been developed in Russia, clarified to journalists the deputy director for scientific and information work and monitoring of the FSBI "ARRIAH" Ilya Chvala. New technique, developed based on recommendations from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), allows to identify the pathogen COVID-19 in different animals, including dogs and cats: for this they will take oral, nasal and other samples of biological material.
